The Super Falcons needed a late goal from striker Desire Oparanozie to win the AWCON for a record 8th time.The striker pounced on a loose ball
to fire under Camerounian goalkeeper Annette Ndom from a tight angle.
Also,Head coach Florence Omagbemi became the first woman to win the tournament as a player and coach.
