Chapecoense rejects chance to sign top retired players
Brazilian club Chapeceonse has rejected the chance to sign established names like two time FIFA World player of the year Ronaldinho,citing lack of resources to pay huge fees as reason for the rejection.
The Club lost 19 of its players in a plane tragedy in Columbia last month and has had offers from players like Argentina's Juan Roman Riquelme,former Chelsea striker,Eidur Gudjohnsen offering to play for the Brazilian club.The club's President has come out to say the players gestures are appreciated but the club is looking for young players.
He said;
“We are ruling out bringing established or famous players because we never had footballers who fit that profile within our institution , ” he told Marca .
“Also, everyone knows we are of modest means and we don ’ t have the resources to pay large fortunes like other big clubs can.
“We will probably go after young professionals in the second division or those who were not chosen by first division clubs . ”
